At the end of this program, the participant will be able to:

Dyslipidemia: Beyond current standards of care for CV risk management (CEM-248)
1. Recognize that cardiovascular (CV) risk persists despite effective LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) lowering;
2. Define contributing factors of persistent CV risk;
3. Describe lipid markers of CV risk beyond LDL-C;
4. Review existing and new evidence of lipid-based therapy as add-on to LDL-C lowering for further CV event reduction;
5. Apply patient-centered approaches to enhance shared decision making for CV risk reduction interventions.

Act at the right time: protect your patients’ kidneys! (CEM-277)
1. Select the type of patient that can benefit from nephroprotective treatment;
2. Describe the management of early diabetic nephropathy;
3. Prescribe and adjust nephroprotective pharmacotherapy;
4. Optimise the care of patients with chronic renal failure.

Asthma: Optimizing anti-inflammatory reliever therapy (CEM-258)
1. Discuss recent evidence on anti-inflammatory reliever therapy in reducing asthma exacerbations;
2. Discuss why over-reliance on short-acting beta-agonists (SABA) increases the risk of exacerbations and worsening of asthma;
3. Describe the latest asthma treatment recommendations from the Canadian Thoracic Society (CTS; 2021) and the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA; 2021);
4. Review asthma management in patients with asthma and COVID-19.
