In order to help physicians better understand their new obligations ragarding continuing education, the CMQ has published an explanatory guide describing the different aspects of the regulation. In 1981, the Quebec College of Physicians (CMQ) designated the Federation of General Practitioners of Quebec (FMOQ) for the purpose of continuing medical education. Since then, credits are granted to doctors who participate in a continuing medical education activity accepted by the FMOQ. Under the agreement with the Federation of General Practitioners of Quebec, AMOM applies the same policies of recognition of educational activities as those in effect at the FMOQ.
